It was great to see that New Wave 12s step up when it matter most. Our first match vs. Sports Shack, we were on our game. We control balls, we serves well, we played as team. We won in two games. Second match vs. Rancho Valley, we came out flat, we misses too many serve. After the first game against Rancho, i reminded our team that we need to get back into a groove and be ready for Club West. My other goals was to try to get every players in the games, and we did. I knew for us to be competetive against Club West, we will not be able to sub very much. We beat Rancho in two games. Third and final match vs. Club West, a match we needed to get into Div. 1. We came out on fire, matching points for points with Club West. We had a chance to close out the game but fell just a little short and lost 27-29. Second games, Club West jumped out to a big lead, even though we tried hard, we came out short again. I am very please how we lost the match to Club West. Our girls competed hard, we were very aggressive, making Club West earn every points. Who would have thought that we could stand up toe to toe with them and we did. Last, but not least our supporting fans and parents. You were great, I could hear all the loud cheers from the other side of the court. A BIG thank you for the snacks also. Parents, you made a great day for the New Wave girls and the coaching’s staff. Thank you, Coach Sam

13 qualifier #1
The first tournament was a blast! I think we were all ready for tournaments to start
and the competition to begin. Although we were all exited the nerves definitely
showed in our first match. We were able to overcome our nerves and escape with a 2-1
win in the first match against AVVC. The 13’s began to settle down and won our next
two matches in straight sets. The families all pulled together to provide food, easy
ups, refreshments, and a great place to hang out while we weren’t playing–it was
definitely a team effort. Thanks to everyone who contributed to a great day!
Although there was room for improvement it was great to begin tournament play going
undefeated and winning our pool in the Bronze Bracket with 3 wins over AVVC
(Antelope Valley Volleyball Club), Beach Cities, and Mile High. Keep up the good
work girls! Coach Jeremy
